January 2009

As per bylaws Larry Thompson, CMU President made appointment to fill out the terms of positions vacated by incoming National Commissioner and Vice President.  Kevin Collins appointed Member-at-Large.  Mary Thompson of CA appointed secretary.

The clan store gets a new name - Mactavish's Scottish Shoppe.

The Towne Square private members forum is activated.

As per bylaws Clan MacTavish USA completed nominations and elections for the following positions on the Board of Directors:

Vice President - Keith Collins, National Commissioner - Sherry Thompson, Membership Secretary - Rick Backus.  Ballots were opened, counted and certified in the presence of Tennessee Notary Public, Ms. Phyllis Bargery.

Clan MacTavish is Honored Clan at two games in one month, Long's Peak Scottish/Irish Festival at Estes Park, Colorado and New Hampshire Highland Games at Loon Mountain, New Hampshire.

Members and friends generously donated sufficient funds and an order was placed for a large Insignia Stone for a Clan MacTavish on the Culloden Memorial Walk.

Clan MacTavish announces it's online fund raising drive to sponsor a stone at the Culloden Memorial Walk.

Clan MacTavish International decides the clan will be attending The Gathering 2009 in Scotland.

As per bylaws Clan MacTavish USA held elections for Directors at Large.  The vote was validated by Phyllis Bargery, Notary Public.  Keith Collins was elected tocontinue as Director at Large and Rita Thompson was newly elected to the position.

After confronting delays due to loss of submitted documents Clan MacTavish USA  received notification of its tax exempt status under section 501[c]3 of the Internal Revenue Code and qualification to receive tax deductable bequests, devises, transfers, or gifts.  View documents.
